Amy Fruchtman retired in 2024 after 35 years at UW–Madison in various roles. Most recently, Amy served as the Assistant Director of Professional Development in the Graduate School Office of Professional Development where, together with colleagues, she provided professional development learning opportunities for the university’s more than 10,000 master’s and PhD students across all disciplines. In other capacities on campus, Amy worked as clinical faculty in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders; served as project manager for a multi-campus National Science Foundation grant; coordinated federal interdisciplinary training grants and served as the speech-language pathology discipline lead, supervising and mentoring students at the Waisman Center. Throughout her tenure, Amy enjoyed leadership roles and participation on many unit- and campus-wide committees and groups.

In addition to her professional work, Amy is a proud alumna, earning both her master’s and bachelor of science degrees at UW–Madison.
